When it comes to creative work, I’m not quite the new kid on the block: from art school to design agencies to real estate marketing, it’s always been my mission to make beautiful things – and acknowledge the beauty surrounding me. With a background in interior architecture, lighting design and art direction, telling visual stories in an artistic way is in my blood. Ever since I can remember, photography has been a great passion of mine: to capture that beauty around me (in the truest sense of the word); to make these memories last. That’s why I founded BELLUCE – which is not only a nod to one of the most beautiful women ever, but also a composition made up from the Italian words for 'beauty' and 'light'. It’s my mission to capture real beauty, as subjective as it is: intimate, raw, human, emotional. And, above all, with an eye for the details: often, it’s the little things that are easily overlooked that define who we are and what we feel.

I’m a very visual thinker: I sometimes find myself imagining image compositions even when I’m not taking photos; I can stare at the way the sunlight is casting shadows on a facade for what feels like forever. This playground of light, shadow and subject is what fascinates me the most. As a friend of mine once put it: it’s all about seeing, not looking. I think that’s a beautiful thing to tailor to the particular stories, people and emotions I’m capturing – none of them are like the other, and they all require full attention, respect and empathy.

In order to be able to capture all of these unique stories – and as I’m German but based in the Netherlands – working internationally is something I really enjoy. In case you’re wondering if communication could be a problem: I’m pretty fluent in Dutch, English and, of course, German ;)
